Background on the owners

Today's makeover is in a Battersea maisonette in a four-storey council block. Built in the 1970's, it's owned by retired John Toole. He's lived in the same house for almost 40 years, having bought it from the council, and he hasn't changed the décor in nearly as long! He recently took in his niece Dee-Ann, who needed to move from her Mayfair flat when the rent went up and she could no longer afford it. Dee-Ann and her friend Faye have been living with John for almost a year and she's decided that her uncle's home needs a revamp. The property has three bedrooms, a study/spare room, large lounge, kitchen and bathroom, and we're going to be transforming four of the rooms in just 60 minutes.
