New Blinds For The New Year

Christmas has come and gone far too quickly, as it does every year! We hope that all of our customers had a wonderful time, and are all set to welcome in the new year. We’re very excited about what 2016 has to hold for Lifestyleblinds: we’re expecting lots of new blinds to appear, including plenty of different fabrics, colours and patterns, further expanding our excellent product offering. But for now, we want to talk about some of our current favourites.

If you’re keen on new blinds for the new year, but are unsure of what to choose, we can help. We’ve rounded up four different interior design styles and match each to several of our blinds, explaining how your window dressing can complete a space, whatever your taste!

Modern and minimalistic

Are you a fan of subtle tones and contemporary design? If so, your living room probably holds some similarities with this one. Soft greys and white, geometrical fabrics and furniture, and clever lighting arrangements make for a modern and minimalistic space that manages be cool yet cosy. For a room like this, we can envisage several different blind options working well. First, a classic vertical blind in sheer white, allowing plenty of light to spill in whilst its linear slats correspond with the geometry of the room. For a smaller window, you could try a delicate roller blind like our Roko Ice Roller, or a stylish Roman blind such as the Simpliciti Grey design.

If country cottages with a vintage feel are more to your taste, you’ll probably be on the hunt for a window dressing that’s traditional and functional, but with a pretty twist. Channel a classic cosiness by selecting a blind like our Obsession Rose roller, brightening up your window with its retro stripes. You could also choose a linen weave style like the Linenweave Mineral Blue – we think that soft greens, light blues and warm creams would work beautifully in a country cottage-inspired space. You can also select a particular type of patterned blind here, so you can easily match your new window dressing to existing upholstery.

A touch of femininity

While most girls outgrow their ‘princess’ bedroom by the age of ten, all of us are partial to sweet colours and delicate patterns every now and again! You may choose to channel your femininity through soft furnishings, such as this cute floral bedspread. Others prefer a more subtle twist, like candles on the mantelpiece or flowers on the table. A pretty pink curtain works wonders in a room like this, but there are plenty of other options for those with a penchant for all things girly. While pink is a firm favourite when it comes to feminine interior design, why not try an abstract floral blind like our Mariella roller? The Fusion Jade roller is also perfect for people who want femininity without the pinkness!

Tradition never goes out of style

One of our best-loved traditional fabrics is tartan, which always makes a reappearance at this time of year. While it’s usually associated with the autumn and winter months, for us, tartan is a favourite all year round. If you’re also a lover of this classic pattern, along with dark wood, thick rugs and traditional ornaments, you’ll probably be keen on a window blind like our Tartan Heather Roman. You might even be on the hunt for a wooden blind to complement your furniture – why not try a style like Simpliciti Chocolate?

Now is the perfect time to update your window dressing. If you want new blinds for the new year, be sure to take a look at our full collection at Lifestyleblinds.
