Live chat on 30th May 2013 Subject: Horizonal joins near the top of the roller blind fabric

Rhona : Hi can you make a roller blind in cavalli pearl fabric that measures 2350mm wide and 2196mm height

Naomi : We can but there will be a join in it.   A horizontal join near the top of the blind you won't see it until it is rolled all the way                 down.  Also it is very professionally done.

Live Chat on May 13th regarding 89mm replacement vertical blind slats

Naomi

Hi Mark, how can I help?

Mark

I have just read your measuring instructions for vertical blinds but am wondering how you will tell how long to cut them to attach to my current fixings

Naomi

Aah if you just want the replacement slats you shouldn't read the instructions for full vertical blinds you should read the replacement slat instructions.  Our replacement vertical blind slats are totally made to your measurements so there is no need for cutting.  Basically all you do is measure your existing louver from the top of the fabric to the bottom of the fabric and give us this measurement.  This is called hem to hem.

Mark

excellent thanks

Naomi

Any problems give us a ring.  My name is Naomi

Mark

and what fixings do you have at the top ?

Naomi

They are sewn in plastic top hangers with 2 holes.  Which type do you have on yours?

Mark

at the top they are rolled over a piece of plastic and they slide into the top

Naomi

no problem.  What you will need to do is slide the fabric out of one of your existing 89mm slats and measure the fabric length as I said before.  We then send you brand new fabric which you slide into your existing hangers.  Is this ok?

Mark

aah sory i thought you said that yours have two holes in it for hanging

Naomi

Aah now if you have the type that you have (which I think are Argos blinds or Ikea blinds, our hangers are not compatible with your existing headrail.  However, the way we get around this is to provide you with the fabric and the weights and chains at the bottom. You then use our fabric with your top hangers.

Mark

OK so do I just need to put a note in the order ?

Naomi

Yes that would help.  As long as you measure your fabric properly ie take it out of the plastic hanger and measure it  then the fabric will be the right length for you to use your hangers.

Mark

great thanks

Naomi

no problems sorry it got a bit complicated

Mark

no its fine. cheers

Chat on 13th May 2013 Can I drill into steel lintels

Naomi

Hi Tom, how can I help?

Tom

Hi I was wondering what sort of blind I can fix above a window with a steel support bar in the wall above it and how would I fix it up because I can't drill into the wall?

Naomi

You can drill into the steel lintle with the right drill bit but if you don't want to you can face fix the blind ie drill into the face of the window.  What type of blind are you looking for??

Tom

The window frame is steel too. I was wondering if there are blinds that are extendable and slot in or ones that are light enough to be glued. Ideally i would like a venetian blind

Naomi

You can drill into a steel frame (maybe safer to drill into the reveal rather than the window) just make sure you use the correct drill bit and maybe get a couple but people do it all the time.  If you speak to a local handyman he will probably be able to drill for you if you are unsure.   Unfortunately we don't do gluable blinds.

Tom

ok thank you
